Throughout my website every assignment that I had to complete was shown on my portfolio. This course has helped me express my writing not only through my papers but the podcast and medias shown during class. My first semester academically has been a shock but throughout these past couple of months I have learned a lot.
My work that has me the proudest would have to be my personal narrative. This writing is my favorite because I got to discuss something that has personally happened to me. Not only this but I got to express what I learned from that experience, for example learning to not take things for granted. The podcast had gone hand in hand with my personal narrative. I got to know two of my classmates a little bit better and talked about the similarities of our writings in a different setting. Recording the podcast was something I haven’t done before, it was an enjoyable new way of discussing my writing as well as my fellow classmates.
My writing definitely needs improvement but throughout the semester it has had a growth too. I know my writing is far from perfect and my time management skills need improvement, but this course has helped me realize what my strong suit is and what I need to continue to work on. My papers did get good feedback and a pretty good grade as well. All the works I have done this semester I’m pretty familiar with because I had to take a writing course senior year. For example the rhetorical analysis I wrote the4 beginning of senior year and it was my least favorite work. The reason being is since I like getting more personal in my writings instead of writing about someone else’s work.
My intro letter was my first “paper” I had to write for the semester and I enjoyed writing it. This letter let me introduce myself and my goals I wanted to accomplish throughout this semester. Since this was my first english college course I did not really know what to expect but now that the semester is over, I know what to expect for future english courses. Being able to have not only work with my professor as well as my classmates before turning in a paper felt very beneficial to me. Not only getting feedback from the person that was grading my work but being able to look at other student’s works helped my writing process. This course has taught me a numerous amount of ways to improve my writing skills but also show me the different ways I can express my writing.
